DUI Checkpoint Scheduled in Industry

Deputies will set up the checkpoint on Friday somewhere in Industry.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department will conduct a DUI/California drivers license checkpoint in Industry from 6 p.m. Friday, to 1 a.m. Saturday.

Deputies conduct the checkpoints on a regular basis, officials said through a news release.

Authorities encourage everyone to report Drunk Drivers by dialing 9-1-1.

“All too often, members of our community are senselessly injured or killed on local roadways by impaired drivers,” deputies wrote in the news release. “Alcohol impaired deaths make up the largest number of vehicle fatalities, with 31 percent of all vehicle fatalities caused by a drunk driver.”

Why don't they post where... so we can avoid it.. Well,,, never mind. I'll ask the cop I drink with.

Hey Robert, some departments do specify in advance where it will be held. Some don't. Some department's will tell you if you call within a certain time - 24 hours before I believe - and give you the exact location of the checkpoint.

Yea ! I hope they get all the drunks off the road. Perhaps they should increase their scope to include ALL of the dangerous drivers, including the ones that are impaired simply by a windshield !

Thanks Gina,, will look into that... I enjoy a glass of wine with friends now and then.... By the way, going next to the old Carrows is a Farmers Market... We were wondering about that.
