Lemon Grove Freeway Briefly Closed in Road Rage Shooting Investigation

Police investigated a possible road rage case in Lemon Grove.

A shooting that may have been rooted in road rage was under investigation Monday, it was reported.

According to San Diego's ABC 10 News, the shooting happened in the early morning hours Monday, around 4:30 a.m., and a local Marine was the apparent target in the incident.

"Authorities said a Marine on his way to Naval Base San Diego for training on the USS Boxer when he said a Chevrolet Silverado truck pulled up next to him on the roadway," the news site reported.  "He said someone in the truck rolled down a window, fired 4-5 shots at his Nissan Titan truck and then sped away."

The person was not hit.

The northbound state Route 125 connector to westbound state Route 94 in Lemon Grove was closed down Monday afternoon around 1 p.m., while authorities searched for any possible evidence, according to 10 News.
