Lemon Grove Sheriff's Investigating Spring Valley Bar Shooting

The assailant got away following the shooting at Fannie's Bar, but the apparent victim turned up at a hospital.

Lemon Grove Sheriff's detectives continue to investigate a shooting early Sunday morning at a Spring Valley bar.

The apparent victim of a shooting at a Spring Valley bar turned up at a hospital Sunday, but the assailant got away, a sheriff's sergeant said.

Sheriff's deputies were dispatched on reports that shots were fired outside Fannie's Bar, in the 9100 block of Campo Road, shortly after midnight, but found no one who had been directly involved in the shooting, sheriff's Sgt. James Blanton said.

Several bar patrons said the victim and suspects had left, Blanton said.

While deputies investigated in Spring Valley, a person with multiple gunshot wounds arrived at the Sharp Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa, Blanton said. Details about the extent of the shooting injuries was not released.

Back at the bar, detectives questioned witnesses, Blanton said, but no details were released.
