A 54-year-old youth ice hockey coach accused of trading child pornography online was scheduled to be arraigned at the downtown courthouse today.
Gregory Eagles, 54, was arrested at his home in Chula Vista on Sept. 30 on suspicion of three felonies and posted bail the next day.
Eagles, a Navy veteran-turned-Navy contractor, underwent three extensive background checks to become a parent-volunteer coach at the Joan Kroc Center in La Mesa, according to KGTV 10 News. He is married with children and has been with the San Diego Saints Traveling Hockey program for more than two years, the station reported.
Eagles was arrested by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, a coalition of various law enforcement agencies.
