Man Suspected of Freeway Shooting Arrested in Spring Valley

The alleged shooting took place on State Route 52 in the Tierrasanta area.

A driver who allegedly opened fire in the direction of another motorist on State Route 52 in the Tierrasanta area late Tuesday afternoon was arrested in Spring Valley a short time later, authorities said.

The shooting, which may have involved a pellet gun and apparently caused no injuries, reportedly occurred near Santo Road about 4:30 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officers located the suspect in the 8900 block of Ildica Street a short time later and took him into custody, sheriff's Lt. Kevin Menzies said. The arrestee's name was not immediately available.

The motive for the shooting was unclear.
