Murder Investigation in Lemon Grove: 30-Year-Old San Diego Woman ID'd

The woman-- who died after being found with a head wound on a Lemon Grove street early Thursday-- has been identified as a 30-year-old San Diego resident.

Homicide investigators continue Friday to look into the death of a San Diego woman who was found on a Lemon Grove street with a fatal head wound.

The woman has been identified as Jennifer Rene Krajnak, 30.  She was a resident of San Diego County, according to the San Diego Sheriff's Department.

Krajnak was found by two deputies patrolling the 7600 block of Pacific Avenue, near Broadway and Buena Vista Ave early Thursday.  Possible evidence in the case indicating that she may have been shot was found later in the day.

"There was a shell casing found at the crime scene, however, it is unknown whether or not it was related to this incident," Lieutenant Glenn Giannantonio said in a press release.

He added that the investigation is still in its preliminary stages and all the information at this point still needs to be verified by detectives.

Krajnak had apparently filed a restraining order against a Marine in 2010 on domestic violence allegations, according to NBC San Diego.  That agency says Krajnak claimed to have been hit, choked and kicked by the man-- but later vacated the order.

Lieutenant Giannantonio said the woman was found Thursday morning with "trauma" to her head, without further elaboration on her specific injuries.

"[Deputies] saw a woman lying on the side of the road and stopped to check on her," he said.  "They found that she had trauma to her head."

The woman was spotted at around 2 a.m., and immediately taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital.  She died about a half hour later, according to Giannantonio.

No suspect has been named in the case.

I Worked with Jenn, she always made work enjoyable and tolerable, despite her small frame she had an enormous heart and personality. My heart goes out to her Mom and brothers who she spoke about often, but not as much as her little dog, and the love she had for all of them. Losing Jenn really hurts, and Ill never forget her.

She was my niece and a doting daughter who loved her mother dearly. In May of this year Jenny took time away from work to drive her mother to New Mexico for her Grandpa's funeral. Jenny helped care for her big brother Christopher who was born deaf. She was selfless in her generosity and spirit. A bright and shining star has fallen from the sky.

I did not know Jenn well but knew enough to know she was a pleasent, sweet, fun young woman. She was a friends best friend and will be missed dearly. This is such a senseless act of violence. Hug your loved ones a little tighter. The people is this world are a disappointment to man kind. Rest in peace, Jenn.

As soon as one had met jenn you couldn't help, but LOVE her. She had a big heart and a wonderful smile. She was so dang tiny! I have loved her for many many years, and I will continue to do so. I'm so sad and my heart hurts so much. She shouldn't have gone "HOME" so soon, especially in the way she did and nor did she deserve such voilence she had endured before she left us ALL! HER spirit will always be with us as she is now "OUR ANGEL" ! We will all see you when we get home sweetie and you will be ready for us with open arms! We love and miss you Jenn, so many of us do! God bless you and be at peace now, rest baby...and always know how much you are LOVED....! I LOVE YOU jenn......as to the person who did this senseless act, I and We will never understand why you took "our lil Jenn" away from all of us. I hope you get everything you deserve and more for taking her life! Sheila Zufelt

Im sorry for your loss its ridiculous that people find this kind of thing to be ok to do. The scary thing is is that the guy who shot her lived two houses away from me.

Tina, I have been told that the man who took such a wonderful person from us has been steadily going down hill since he got booted from the Navy for drugs. I also have been told that the same year he got booted that his wife also left him. I understand that he was having a difficult time but too take someone's life over something as simple as them rejecting him is just senseless. Jenn was a wonderful person who was filled with so much love and life. I miss her dearly. I miss talking to her. I miss her Facebook posts. I miss her so much. I hope this man get's what he deserves.
R.I.P. Jenn.
