One is Injured in Police Shooting Near San Diego State University

People were evacuated from the college area apartments.

One person was wounded today in a police shooting at a College-area apartment complex, authorities said.

At least one San Diego police officer opened fire just before 1 p.m. while trying to serve a search warrant in the 5400 block of Reservoir Drive, just east of San Diego State University, according to SDPD public-affairs Lt. Andra Brown.

The wounded person's identity and condition were not immediately available.

Following the gunfire, officers evacuated people from the apartment building where it occurred and searched the complex and surrounding neighborhood for a second suspect.
