Police Ask the Public's Help in Search for Subway Sandwich Robbers
At least one of the robbers who targeted the La Mesa eatery was armed with a gun, according to authorities.
Police are asking the public's help in finding two young men who robbed a La Mesa Subway sandwich shop at gunpoint.
The robbery at 8142 La Mesa Blvd. was reported about 8 p.m. Thursday, according to La Mesa police.
One of the robbers pointed a small caliber handgun at an employee while the other robber collected the money and placed it in a blue backpack, police said in a statement. The exact loss was not disclosed.

The robbers were last seen running away southbound on Nebo Drive.
Police described the gunman as black, 17 to 19 years old and around 5 feet 3, with a thin build. He wore a long-sleeved black turtleneck shirt that was pulled over his head, police said.

His accomplice was described as white, 17 to 19 years old and around 5 feet 7, with a thin build. He wore a gray sweatshirt and a concealed his face with a blue bandana, police said.
Authorities ask anyone with information about the robbery to call La Mesa police at (619) 667-1400.
