New details are emerging Thursday afternoon in the death of a woman who was found on the street in the early morning hours with head injuries, and later passed away.

The San Diego Sheriff's Department says they have yet to identify the woman who was found by two deputies patrolling the 7600 block of Pacific Avenue, near Broadway and Buena Vista Ave, but they have found some possible evidence in the case.

"There was a shell casing found at the crime scene, however, it is unknown whether or not it was related to this incident," Lietenent Glenn Giannantonio said in a press release.
