UPDATE: Would-be Child Abduction in Lemon Grove Appears to be Fabrication
Authorities said a youngster from a Lemon Grove school reported they were grabbed and nearly taken.
4:55 P.M.UPDATE:
A report from a youngster of almost being abducted appears to be false, San Diego County Sheriff's Deputies officials said late Tuesday.
The office had been careful about releasing information but moved forward to make sure a predator was not on the loose. However the story does not appear to be true at this point, a sheriff's official told Lemon Grove Patch by phone.

ORIGINAL STORY:
A Monterey Heights Elementary School student reported being grabbed by a would-be abductor near the campus today, prompted deputies to fan out through the area in search of the man.
The 9-year-old went to an administration office at the Lemon Grove primary school shortly before 3 p.m. to report the encounter, saying it had occurred a short time earlier, according to sheriff's officials.
The child, who was uninjured, described the assailant as a heavyset, roughly 5-foot-8-inch Latino in blue jeans, Lt. Jason Vickery said.
There were no arrests as of late afternoon.
