Sheriff's Search for Mentally Ill Man Who is Missing

They ask the public's help in finding Robert Chesney, 41, of Chula Vista.

San Diego County Sheriff’s officials are asking the public’s help in finding a man suffering from various mental disabilities.

Robert Chesney, 41, of Chula Vista was last seen about 1 p.m. Feb. 2, by his caregiver who dropped him off at UCSD Medical Hospital in San Diego for a medical appointment.

But officials say he never arrived at the appointment and is believed to have left the hospital on foot.

Chesney has a history of seizures, dementia, mood disorders, diminished mental capacity, a speech impediment, and has not taken his medication, officials said.

If found, deputies ask you please contact the Chula Vista Police Department, 691-5151.
