Sheriff Seeking Public's Help Finding 'Armed and Dangerous' Parolee

Alex Ruiz is wanted in connection with five robberies and is known to frequent Lemon Grove and Spring Valley.

The San Diego County Sheriff's Department is calling on the public's help in finding a parolee at large.

The Sheriff's Department is working with the Fugitive Task Force and Crime Stoppers to locate and arrest Alex Ruiz. Ruiz is wanted in connection with five robberies, according to a news release.

His criminal history includes weapons charges, gang crimes, robberies, and armed felony assaults, authorities said.  Ruiz often frequents Lemon Grove, Spring Valley, San Diego, and the South Bay area.

He has several tattoos, including one on the left side of his neck that says "RIP Goofy." He also has "South" and "Sider" on his arms.

Authorites are warning anyone who sees Ruiz not to approach him.  He is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information about Ruiz can call the Crime Stoppers tip line at (888) 580-8477. Tipsters can remain anonymous and be eligible for up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
