Sheriff's Department to Hold Recruiting Event at Chargers' Game Sunday

The San Diego County Sheriff's Department is hiring.

Looking for a new job or career? The San Diego County Sheriff's Department is holding a recruitment event at this weekend's Chargers' game.

The department is currently looking for more than 400 deputies, 911 dispatchers and professional staff. According to the sheriff's department, from now through 2016, they are looking to fill 2,000 sworn and professional positions. Some of the newly hired employees will fill staffing needs at the new Las Colinas Detention Facility in Santee, increase patrol staffing in unincorporated areas and provide additional staff in several detention facilities as a result of the recent California Prison Realignment.

Interested in joining the force? You can visit the sheriff department's recruitment booth at Qualcomm Stadium during the Public Safety Appreciation game on Sept. 16 from 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

The booth will be inside the stadium between ramps L and K. Check the stadium map for the location.

Members of the Sheriff's Personnel Division will be present to answer your questions about the recruitment and hiring process. You can also chat with members of the Sheriff's Bomb/Arson Unit.
