Shots Fired at Bar on Broadway

Nobody was injured after a customer that was asked to leave returns to Dirk’s with a rifle around 2 a.m.

A patron that was asked to leave a Lemon Grove bar as closing time approached returned a short time later with a rifle and fired several rounds at the building, according to a sheriff’s lieutenant.

Nobody was hit by the shots that were fired from the parking lot of on Broadway around 2 a.m., said Lt. Jeff Maxin. Deputies are searching for a suspect described as a white male in his mid 20s, 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build.

The suspect that fired the rounds was with another man with a similar description, Maxin said. The number of shots fired was not available, but Maxin said it was “several” and that shell casings were recovered.

The suspects may have fled in a dark-colored pickup.
