A readiness conference is set for Aug. 19 and a preliminary hearing for Aug. 23.

The injured man was was shot multiple times on Sunday night, according to Jeff Weiss, a San Diego County Sheriff's Department communications supervisor.

Initially reported as a hot prowl at 10:16 p.m. Sunday, a witness intentionally punctured a tire on the suspects’ vehicle before they fled, authorities said. The sound of a vehicle being driven on a flat tire led sheriff’s deputies to the alleged gunmen, who were arrested near Lemon Grove Avenue and Broadway.

Weiss said two firearms were recovered from inside the vehicle.
