Suspicious Device Forces Closure of Lemon Grove Intersection

Federal Boulevard and College Avenue was closed while officials determined a device found there was a danger.

A suspicious device that forced the closure of a Lemon Grove intersection today was a projectile and not a danger to the public, authorities said.

The incident was reported through a public news alert at 5:19 tonight. San Diego County Sheriff’s officials briefly shut down the Federal Boulevard at College Avenue to investigate the item.

Sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Clayton Lisk said it was unclear what the device was and who is responsible for it but deputies were quickly able to determine it was not a dangerous device.
