Teen Robbers Sought in Theft of Cell Phones

Authorities ask the public's help in finding two young women who beat and robbed their victims.

Police were on the lookout today for two young women who robbed two women in neighboring La Mesa, causing minor injuries.

The victims were punched and robbed of their cell phones in the area of Campina and Severin drives shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday, according to La Mesa police. The robbers were last seen running toward the trolley station on Amaya Drive, police said in a statement.

Police described both suspects as black and around 18 years old. One stands roughly 5 feet 5 and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, black shorts and black tights, police said. Her accomplice is about 5 feet 8, has dreadlocks and was last seen wearing a dark T-shirt and light purple shoes.

Anyone with information about the robbery was asked to call San Diego County Crime Stoppers' anonymous tip line at (888) 580-TIPS.
