Two Arrested During Recent Lemon Grove DUI Checkpoint

The checkpoint was held on Broadway on Nov. 16.

Lemon Grove Sheriff’s officials say the Nov. 16 DUI checkpoint ended with two arrests, 24 citations issued and eight vehicles impounded.

The citations were for suspended/revoked or unlicensed drivers, deputies reported. Sheriff's officials conducted the DUI checkpoint along Broadway.

The operation lasted for six hours. The two motorists arrested were suspected of driving under the influence.

The DUI checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. More DUI checkpoints are scheduled for the coming weeks. The goal is to keep impaired drivers off our roadways and create a safer driving environment, officials said.
