UPDATE: Surveillance Images Show Bottle Throwing Suspect Nabbed in Lemon Grove

Police say the man seen in these surveillance images throwing a glass bottle at someone's head was nabbed by police in Lemon Grove this week-- after a three month search.

A 25-year-old San Diego man was behind county bars Friday after he was nabbed earlier this week in Lemon Grove following a months-long search.

Javon Rivera was tracked down to Lemon Grove after someone recognized him in the surveillance images attached to this article, according to Chula Vista Police Spokesman Captain Gary Wedge.

The Aug. 27 video from which the images come show a man-- who Wedge says is Rivera-- first speaking with an unidentified female passenger, who decides to move away from him.

The suspect then makes his way to another passenger, a male sitting by a window on the driver's side.

"The suspect issued gang challenges to the victim, who responded by saying he did not want any problems," Wedge said.

After a few moments, Rivera is seen throwing the bottle at the man's head, which resulted in him needing stitches, according to Wedge.

"Rivera was arrested [Tuesday] in Lemon Grove and later booked into county jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, (with a gang enhancement), and violation of probation," Wedge said.

San Diego County jail records indicate Rivera remained locked up Friday, and that he was not eligible for bail.
