Weekly Crime Report: Aug. 16

Parole violations, shoplifting and robbery are among the allegations reported.

Items of note from the desk of the Lemon Grove station of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, as of Aug. 15:

  • A report of a suspicious person led to the citation of a 57-year-old man on suspicion of violating a municipal code prohibiting the scavenging of recyclable materials. The man was issued a misdemeanor citation for the allegation after being contacted in the 8200 block of Golden Avenue at 8:10 a.m. Aug. 12.
  • A 26-year-old man was arrested on a felony parole violation after being stopped in the 3400 block of Main Street at 10:21 a.m. on Aug. 12. He was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego.
  • Deputies issued a citation to a 47-year-old man on suspicion of violating a city code against consuming alcohol in public places. The man was released after being issued the citation at 11:45 a.m. on Aug. 12 after being contacted on Massachusetts Avenue.
  • A 51-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of violating a restraining order in the 8200 block of Blossom Hill Court at 9:18 p.m. on Aug. 11. She was booked into the Las Colinas women's jail in Santee on the misdemeanor allegation after allegedly contacting a 75-year-old woman at the location.
  • A shotgun and a bag were reported found in the 7000 block of Broadway at 7:53 a.m. on Aug. 9.
  • A 56-year-old man was arrested on misdemeanor driving on a suspended license following a traffic stop in the 7900 block of North Avenue at 10:14 a.m. Aug. 9. He was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego.
  • A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a felony of violating parole and being under the influence of controlled substances, a misdemeanor, on Aug. 9. The arrest was reported at 11:28 a.m.
  • A 32-year-old man was cited on suspicion of shoplifting after being detained at the Home Depot on Broadway at 1:29 p.m. on Aug. 8. Authorities recovered about  $108 in miscellaneous household goods. He was released after receiving a citation.
  • A 31-year-old man reported being the victim of a robbery at a residence in the 1500 block of Dresel Drive at 8:45 p.m. on Aug. 8. The victim reported a minor injury. No suspect information was listed.
  • Everything $5 Store, 3200 Lemon Grove Avenue, reported the loss of $50 worth of clothing to an unknown shoplifter at 1:40 p.m. on Aug. 5.
  • A suspected stolen vehicle led to the arrest of a 24-year-old woman on suspicion of driving with a measurable amount of alcohol in her system at 8 p.m. Aug. 2 at Alton Drive and Eldora Street. According to the report, she was on probation for drunken driving and was cited and released.

Vehicle thefts reported:

  • 7800 block of Deborah Place, 4:43 p.m. Aug. 13; a black, two-door sedan valued at $3,500.
  • 2600 block of Hardy Drive, 3:35 p.m. on Aug. 12; a black and blue custom Ultra motorcycle valued at $10,000.

  • 3200 College Place at 2:39 on Aug. 8; a $600 computer reported stolen.
