Weekly Crime Report: Aug. 2

An 88-year-old woman is said to be the victim of an alleged grand theft, and two sex crimes are reported.

Items of note from the desk of the Lemon Grove station of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, as of Aug. 1:

  • Colleen Harris, 51, was arrested on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon after deputies were called to the 7500 block of North Avenue on the night of July 31. Harris was booked into the  LasColinas women's jail in Santee. A 53-year-old male victim sustained a minor injury, according to a report. The weapon allegedly used was not listed in the report.
  • Deputies cited an 18-year-old man on suspicion of possessing a switchblade knife, a misdemeanor, following a traffic stop in the 3100 block of Citrus Street around 1 a.m. on July 30. Noah Kim was released after receiving the ticket, according to a report.
  • Brian Mendoza, 18, was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest following a reported disturbance at Broadway and Main Street on the afternoon of July 30. He was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego on a misdemeanor.
  • A 28-year-old woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant after deputies were called to the 800 block of Elkelton Boulevard to investigate an illegal parking complaint on the morning of July 30.
  • Deputies arrested a 47-year-old woman after she allegedly “exhibited” a deadly weapon at a 31-year-old man in the 1500 block of Skyline Drive on the afternoon of July 30. The weapon was not detailed but was not a firearm, according to the report. The woman, identified as Dianna Knudsen, was booked into the Las Colinas women's jail in Santee. She faces an additional allegation of being under the influence of a controlled substance. The victim was not injured.
  • A 26-year-old man was arrested on a sex crime allegation involving a minor after deputies were called to investigate a report of a suspicious person in the 1800 block of 69th Street shortly after 2 a.m. on July 29. The suspect, identified as Daniel Wayne Coxon, was arrested on suspicion of unlawful sex with a minor, a felony, according to a report. Coxon was also allegedly found in possession of obscene materials involving minors, also a felony. He was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego on those allegations, in addition to misdemeanor drunken driving. Jail records show he faces additional felony allegations and is scheduled for arraignment in El Cajon Superior Court on the afternoon of Aug. 2. He is being held on $100,000 bail on a felony child cruelty allegation and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Additionally, records show he is scheduled to appear in a downtown San Diego Superior Court related to a charge involving felony evading a peace officer.
  • A 58-year-old woman reported her vehicle vandalized in the 7200 block of San Miguel Avenue on the morning of July 29. The vehicle, a gray convertible, was valued at $5,000. The nature of the damage was not detailed in the report. No suspect information was reported.
  • A case of grand theft from an 88-year-old woman is being investigated after deputies received a report of the alleged offense in the 1600 block of San Altos Place on the afternoon of July 29. The woman had $65,000 stolen in the case, according to a report. No suspect information was listed.
  • Two people were arrested on felony drug allegations after being stopped in the 7900 block of North Avenue during the early morning hours of July 29. Both Marlene Lopez, 31, and Christopher Green, 38, were arrested on suspicion of public drunkenness, a misdemeanor, and felony possession of controlled substances. Lopez was booked into the Las Colinas women's jail in Santee, while Green was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego.
  • A report of a prowler led to the arrest of a 34-year-old man on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs in the 1600 block of Drexel Drive shortly before 5 a.m. on July 28. The suspect, identified as Robert Taitague, was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego.
  • Deputies cited a 42-year-old man on suspicion of trespassing after contacting him in the 7200 block of Broadway on the night of July 28. Daniel Bryce was released following the citation, according to a report.
  • A 51-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of felony burglary after allegedly attempting to steal tools from the Home Depot in the 7500 block of Broadway on the afternoon of July 27. Leonard Ortega was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego. Items valued at $250 were recovered, according to a report.
  • Deputies arrested Curtis Bennett, 35, on a felony assault allegation after he allegedly injured a 40-year-old man in the 1600 block of Drexel Drive on the night of July 26. He was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. The victim sustained injuries described as major in the incident. The weapon allegedly used was not reported.
  • Roy Trzynka, 45, was arrested on a felony parole violation after being stopped by a deputy in the 7900 block of Broadway shortly after midnight July 29. He was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego.
  • A 39-year-old man was arrested on a felony drug allegation following a traffic stop on eastbound state Route 94 at Massachusetts Avenue on the night of July 21. Scott Krzan was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego on suspicion of possessing controlled substances and a misdemeanor allegation of driving on a suspended license.
  • Deputies cited two women following a battery complaint by two other women in the 1800 block of Washington Street on the night of July 25. The suspects, Marlena Walker, 30, and Karla Arteaga, 23, were issued misdemeanor citations before being released. The victims, ages 30 and 23, reported minor injuries.
  • Lisa Garcia, 33, was arrested on a felony allegation of false imprisonment on the evening of July 27 in the 1000 block of Glencoe Drive. She was also booked into the Las Colinas women's jail in Santee on a misdemeanor battery allegation. The 34-year-old male victim in the case had a minor injury, according to a report.
  • A 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a 26-year-old man in the 8200 block of Lincoln Street shortly after midnight on July 26. Sanna Brown was booked into the Las Colinas women's jail in Santee on a felony. The victim had a  minor injury, according to a report.
  • Deputies arrested a juvenile for failing to obey a court order after contacting the unnamed suspect in the 1800 block of Ramon Street on the night of July 26. The suspect was booked into Juvenile Hall.
  • Three juveniles were arrested after deputies responded to a ringing alarm at the Monterey Heights Elementary School on the afternoon of July 25. The unidentified suspects were detained on suspicion of felony commercial burglary and the matter is being referred to juvenile court, according to a report.
  • Jesus Perez, 33, was arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary at the Food 4 Less, 7400 Broadway, on the afternoon of July 25. He was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego on a felony and authorities recovered an estimated $37 in miscellaneous food items.
  • Matthew Borger, 31, was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant after being stopped in the 1700 block of San Altos Place on the afternoon of July 25.
  • A 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest at Pacific Avenue and Alford Street on the afternoon of July 24. The suspect, identified as Edward Delacruz, 45, was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego.
  • Deputies arrested a 29-year-old woman on suspicion of drunken driving following a report of a hit-and-run accident in the 7800 block of Alton Drive on the afternoon of July 24. The suspect, identified as Amber Damiani, was booked into the Las Colinas women's jail in Santee. A second woman, identified as Chloe Goodrum, 22, was booked into Las Colinas after also being arrested during the same incident on suspicion of public drunkenness.
  • An unidentified victim reported being raped in the 8500 block of Palm Street on the night of July 24. No suspect information was reported. The victim reported a minor injury in the incident.
  • A 36-year-old man was arrested after allegedly attempting to evade arrest during an attempted traffic stop at Campo Road and Jamacha Boulevard on the afternoon of July 22. The suspect, identified as Agustin Gonzales, was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego on a misdemeanor.
  • Adam Waldman, 20, was cited on on misdemeanor driving on a suspected license, a misdemeanor, after a traffic stop at Massachusetts Avenue at Mount Vernon Street on the night of July 21. He was also cited on an infraction of being a minor while driving with a measurable amount of alcohol in his system.

Vehicle thefts reported:

  • Berry Street at Park Grove on the morning of July 25. Red and black convertible valued at $1000.

  • Grove Street at Lemon Grove Way on the morning of Aug. 1. Blue, four-door sedan valued at $1,000.
  • 9100 block of Jamacha Road on the night of July 27. Silver, four-door sedan valued at $200.
  • 8200 block of Vernier Road on the morning of July 22. Blue four-door sedan; no value listed.


Residential burglaries or grand thefts from buildings classified as felonies with items stolen valued from $500-$23,000:

  • A Touch From Above, 7400 Broadway, on the morning of July 26.
  • 1900 block of Dartmoor Drive on the afternoon of July 25.
  • 1600 block of Cameron Drive on the afternoon of July 24.
