Weekly Crime Report: Aug. 9

Traffic stops result in arrests on weapons allegations, outstanding warrants.

Items of note from the desk of the Lemon Grove station of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, as of Aug. 8:

  • A 22-year-old man was arrested after a disturbance was reported in the 8000 block of Lemon Grove Way on the night of Aug. 8. He was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego on outstanding misdemeanor warrant.
  • Deputies arrested a 20-year-old man on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant following a traffic stop on the night of Aug. 6 at Vista Avenue and Broadway. He was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego.
  • Deputies cited a 43-year-old woman on suspicion of misdemeanor shoplifting after being called to Rite Aid, 7224 Broadway, on the afternoon of Aug. 5. She was cited and released.
  • A 64-year-old man was arrested after being stopped in the 8100 block of Lincoln Street on the night of Aug. 5 and taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant.
  • A 33-year-old woman was arrested after being stopped in the 7600 block of North Avenue on the night of Aug. 5. She was taken into custody on suspicion of receiving stolen property, a felony, and being under the influence of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
  • A 43-year-old man was arrested after deputies were called to the 1400 block of Skyline Drive on a trespassing complaint on the evening of Aug. 3. He was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.
  • A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after authorities were called to the 2600 block of Nina Road on the afternoon of Aug. 3. He was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego on suspicion of felony assault and felony vandalism. The incident involved a red sedan and a “club, blackjack, brass knuckles,” according to a report. The 32-year-old male victim had a minor injury.
  • A 49-year-old woman was arrested after deputies were called to a disturbance in the 8000 block of Broadway on the afternoon of Aug. 3. She was booked into the Las Colinas women's jail in Santee on suspicion of public drunkenness and resisting arrest. Arrest records show the woman was also cited on the morning of Aug. 3 on misdemeanor suspicion of possessing a shopping cart owned by the 99 Cents Only store.
  • A juvenile was arrested on a misdemeanor battery after an incident involving a 30-year-old woman in the 1600 block of Colfax Drive on the afternoon of Aug. 2. The unnamed juvenile was booked into Juvenile Hall. The victim had a minor injury, according to a report.
  • Deputies arrested a 37-year-old man on suspicion of rape following a complaint by an unnamed victim in the 7600 block of Broadway shortly after 2 a.m. on July 24. The arrest on a felony rape allegation was made public in a report released Aug. 2, though he was taken into custody July 24 shortly after the incident was reported.
  • A 22-year-old man was arrested on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant in the 7100 block of Mount Vernon Street after being stopped by a deputy on the night of Aug. 1. He was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego.
  • Two 20-year-old women were arrested on suspicion of felony vehicle theft after allegedly taking a vehicle from a 22-year-old man on the morning of Aug.1. Both women were booked into the Las Colinas women's jail in Santee on an additional felony allegation of conspiracy. One also faces an allegation of possessing a controlled substance.
  • Deputies arrested a 36-year-old woman on a felony vandalism allegation that was reported in the 3600 block of Hilltop Drive on the morning of July 31. She was booked into the Las Colinas women's jail in Santee after being arrested in La Mesa about four hours after the incident was reported. A 38-year-old man reported the vandalism to a four-door sedan.
  • A 23-year-old man was arrested on a number of misdemeanor allegations following a traffic stop at Main Street and San Miguel Avenue shortly before midnight on July 30. He was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego on an outstanding warrant, in addition to misdemeanors of carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle, drunken driving and driving on a suspended license from a prior DUI.
  • A 20-year-old man was arrested after being found with dangerous weapons following a traffic stop in the 7000 block of Broadway shortly before 1 a.m. on July 30. He was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego on suspicion of possessing a weapon similar to a “club, blackjack, brass knuckles,” which is a felony allegation, according to a report.
  • A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of felony burglary after a complaint at the 7-Eleven in the 7600 block of Broadway on the night of July 30. About $12 in liquor was reported recovered following the incident.
  • Deputies arrested two men in their 20s on felonies after weapons were found in their vehicle following a traffic stop in the 7600 block of Broadway on the night of July 29. A 22-year-old man was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego on suspicion of possessing a dangerous weapon, while a 20-year-old man was booked on suspicion of carrying a concealed dirk or dagger. 

Vehicle thefts reported:

  • 2200 block of Main Street on the afternoon of July 2; Silver SUV valued at $15,000.

Residential burglaries or grand thefts from buildings classified as felonies with items stolen valued from $550-$2,070:

Vehicle burglary items valued at $4,000:

  • 1800 block of Bakersfield Street on the night of Aug. 6.
