Weekly Crime Report: July 11

Items of note from the desk of the Lemon Grove station of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

  • Deborah Henagan, 50, was arrested on a felony allegation of possessing controlled substances, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia on the evening of July 8. According to a report, she was booked into the Las Colinas women's jail in Santee following her arrest in the 3400 block of Olive Street.
  • Deputies seized a concealed dagger from a juvenile after stopping the unidentified person at Broadway and New Jersey Avenue on the afternoon of July 8. The juvenile was released shortly afterward, according a report.
  • A juvenile was detained on a curfew violation after being contacted by deputies in the 1500 block of Osage Drive shortly after 10 p.m. on July 8. The unidentified juvenile was released  after the following offenses were referred to juvenile court: resisting arrest, possessing smoking paraphernalia and violating curfew.
  • A 29-year-old woman was arrested on abuse allegations after deputies were called to the 2600 block of Sheri Lane on the morning of July 7. Tamra Hayward faces three felonies involving three unidentified victims and two women aged 78 and 50, according to a report at the Lemon Grove station of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. Hayward was booked into the Las Colinas women's jail in Santee on suspicion of child cruelty, felony abuse and elder abuse. She also faces a misdemeanor battery allegation, according to a report.
  • A call to check on a person's welfare resulted in the arrest of a 23-year-old woman on drug allegations in the 7600 block of Madison Avenue on the night of July 7. Celeste Scott was booked into the Las Colinas women's jail in Santee on two felonies, possession of controlled substances for sale, and possession of a controlled substance and two misdemeanors, possession hypodermics and possessing drug paraphernalia.
  • A 52-year-old woman was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant following a traffic stop at Lemon Grove Avenue and Palm Street on the evening of July 6.  Adrenna Jones  was booked into the Las Colinas women's jail in Santee following her arrest.
  • Deputies arrested a 32-year-old man for a felony parole violation after stopping him at Broadway and Main Street on the morning of July 6. Identified as Delano Ferrer, he was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego.
  • Miquel Rubio was arrested after deputies were called to a disturbance in the 200 block of Eldora Street during the early morning hours of July 6. Rubio, 35, was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego on suspicion of felony false imprisonment. He is suspect of threatening and holding a 36-year-old female victim against her will, according to a report.
  • Joseph Butera, 35, was arrested on a drug allegation after deputies were called to check a person's welfare at Massachusetts Avenue and Broadway on the afternoon of July 5. He was booked into County Jail on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance, a felony, and misdemeanor possession of hypodermics.
  • A 24-year-old man was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant after deputies were called to a disturbance in the 1800 block of Dartmoor Drive around 11:30 a.m. on July 5. The suspect, Devon Brown, was arrested on what was reported as a parole violation and booked into County Jail.
  • Three men were arrested shortly after midnight on July 4 on suspicion of vandalizing the Lemon Grove Little League Ballpark in the 1700 block of Dayton Drive. The suspects are accused of causing $1,200 worth of damage, a felony, and conspiring to commit the crime, according to a report. The damage was not further detailed in the report. They are identified as David Gonzalez, 20, Jayson Mauricio, 21, and Kevin Pugeda, 18. All were booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego.
  • Ruben Jaramillo, 33, was arrested on a felony complaint after allegedly injuring an unidentified victim in the 8000 block of Tealwood Court on the evening of July 4. The victim sustained a minor injury, according to a report, and Jaramillo was booked into County Jail in San Diego.
  • A 65-year-old woman reported her vehicle was fired upon in the 2300 block of Bonita Street on the morning of July 2. No suspect information was listed and no injuries were reported.
  • A 46-year-old man was arrested following a report of a fight shortly after 2 a.m. July 2 in the 3100 block of Vista Avenue. James Tozier was booked into County Jail on suspicion of drunken driving and driving on a suspended license. No injuries were reported.
  • Daniel Curton, 33, was arrested on suspicion of driving with a measurable amount of alcohol in his system while on probation for drunken driving on the night of June 29. According to a report, he was cited and released after being stopped at Lemon Grove and Massachusetts avenues. At the same stop, deputies arrested Sulaymaan Agnew, 22, on suspicion of being drunk in public. He was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego.


Vehicle thefts reported:

  • 1600 block of Cameron Drive on the evening of July 7. Tan, four-door sedan valued at $2,000.
  • 7900 block of Lincoln Street on the morning of July 5. Gold four-door sedan valued at $18,000.
  • 3700 block of Avocado Boulevard on the morning of July 5. White van valued at $1,000.


Vehicle burglaries reported (stolen items valued at $275 to $1,300):

  • 1700 Drexel Drive on the afternoon of July 7.
  • 2 reports in the 7400  block of Daytona Street on the morning  of July 1.

Residential burglaries, hot prowls, grand theft from buildings or commercial burglaries (stolen items valued at $265 to  $2,750):
