Weekly Crime Report: July 19

Items of note from the desk of the Lemon Grove station of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

  • Deputies arrested a 38-year-old man on suspicion of auto theft after he allegedly stole a vehicle from a 42-year-old woman in the 7200 block of Broadway on the night of July 15. Michael Savage, 38, was arrested on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle, in addition to the theft allegation, according to a report. Deputies recovered a blue four-door sedan valued at $10,000. He is scheduled for arraignment July 20 in El Cajon Superior Court and remains jailed on a parole hold, according to jail records. Two women were arrested in the same incident on misdemeanor drug allegations. Identified as Tamika Calbert, 34, and Kieshia Jefferson, 33, they were booked into the Las Colinas women's jail in Santee on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs and possessing drug paraphernalia.
  • A 38-year-old reported an assault on Broadway on the morning of July 15. The victim was found with a severe cut, according to a report, after being contacted at Broadway and Sweetwater Road. No suspect information was listed.
  • A 25-year-old woman reported her computer vandalized in the 2800 block of Cypress Avenue on the night of July 16. The computer was valued at $600. The nature of the damage was not detailed in the report. No suspect information was reported.
  • Deputies arrested a 38-year-old man on hit-and-run and DUI allegations in the 1700 block of Glencoe Drive during the early morning hours of July 9. Daniel Mauldin was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego after being arrested on Elroy Drive, according to a report. Mauldin faces allegations of drunken driving, hit-and-run, and operating a motor vehicle with alcohol in his system while on probation for a prior DUI.
  • Dominic Kline, 21, was arrested on a gang allegation on the night of July 2 in the 2800 block of Mercury Drive. He is accused of promoting or assisting a criminal street gang and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. He was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego and an automatic handgun was seized during his arrest, according to a report.
  • A 21-year-old man was arrested after a foot pursuit in the 1600 block of Taft Street in Lemon Grove on the morning of July 13. Deputies booked Michael Williams into County Jail on a felony parole violation in addition to misdemeanor resisting arrest.
  • Michael Grant, 25, was arrested following a traffic stop on suspicion of drunken driving and violating probation in the 3200 block of Kempf Street on the night of July 10. He was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego on the DUI allegations, in addition to operating a motor vehicle with alcohol in his system while on probation for a prior DUI.
  • Deputies cited a 21-year-old man on suspicion of defrauding an innkeeper based on a complaint from a Red Cab operator on the morning of July 1. Mark Sharpe, 21, was issued a misdemeanor citation prior to being released.


Vehicle thefts reported:

  • 8400 block of Broadway on the morning of July 10. Gold four-door sedan valued at $5,000.
  • 2100 block of Washington Street on the morning of July 11. Silver SUV valued at $10,000.
  • 7300 block of Goodman Lane on the evening  of July 1.  Gold four-door sedan valued at $4,500.


Vehicle reported stolen and recovered:

  • 8300 block of Elkhorn Street on the afternoon of July 11. Red four-door sedan valued at $2,000. Reported stolen in other jurisdiction.
