Weekly Crime Report: July 5

Items of note from the desk of the Lemon Grove station of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department as of July 5.

Possession of controlled substances, gang allegations, outstanding warrants and contributing to the delinquency of minors make this week's roundup on the Sheriff's Blotter.

Suspicious activity can be reported to the Sheriff's Department at 858-565-5200, and the Lemon Grove station can be contacted at 619-337-2000. In an emergency, always dial 911.

  • A 25-year-old woman reported being the victim of a battery in the 7100 block of Westview Place on the morning of July 3. She sustained a minor injury. No suspect information was reported.
  • A 35-year-old woman was arrested on drug allegations after deputies were called to conduct a welfare check in the 3400 block of Main Street during the early morning hours of July 2. Tamara Ann Waelde was booked into the Las Colinas women's jail in Santee on two felony charges of possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor driving on a suspended license.
  • Edwin Gray, 45, was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant after being stopped on the morning of July 2 at North Avenue and Grove Street. He was booked into San Diego County Jail.
  • A juvenile was arrested on a felony battery allegation after deputies responded to a call in the 9600 block of Kenora Lane on the afternoon of July 2. The juvenile was booked into Juvenile Hall after the arrest. A 44-year-old man reported a major injury resulting from the incident.
  • Five people were arrested, three of them juveniles, after deputies were called to a disturbance at a party on New Jersey Avenue on the evening of July 1. The juveniles were detained on Central Avenue on suspicion of allegations ranging from curfew violations to being drunk in public. Two adults, Torino Williams, 40, and Kristn Davis, 29, were arrested on suspicion of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Williams was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego and Davis was taken to the Las Colinas women's jail in Santee.
  • Jerry Lacy, 53, was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant after being stopped in the 7000 block of Broadway on the evening of July 1. Lacy was booked into County Jail on the misdemeanor warrant, details of which were not listed in the report.
  • Two men were arrested on gang allegations and parole violations after their alleged involvement in a battery attempt the trolley station in the 4200 block of Massachusetts Avenue during the early morning hours of June 30, according to a report at the Lemon Grove station of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. The suspects, identified as Daniel Earl Tieabout , 31, and Anthony Bush, 29, were each arrested on two felonies: participating in a criminal street gang and violating parole, after being contacted at the Spring Street Trolley Station. Both were also arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor battery. Two male victims were not seriously injured in the incident, according to a report.
  • A traffic stop at Lemon Grove and North Avenues on the evening of June 30 led to a felony arrest of a 43-year-old man. Calvin Sutton was arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and misdemeanor driving on a suspended license.  He was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego.
  • A 24-year-old woman was arrested after deputies were called to conduct a welfare check on the evening of June 30 in the 7600 block of Madison Avenue. Celeste Scott was booked into the Las Colinas women's jail in Santee on misdemeanor being under the influence of a controlled substance, possessing hypodermics and possessing controlled substance paraphernalia.
  • Kara Bozarth, 20, was arrested on drug allegations during the early morning hours of June 30 at North Avenue and Grove Street. She was booked into the Las Colinas women's jail on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, and misdemeanors of possessing hypodermics and possessing drug paraphernalia.
  • Deputies arrested a 57-year-old man on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant after stopping him in the 8100 block of Lincoln Street on the evening of June 30. Alan Reese was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego. The nature of the warrant was not detailed.
  • Deputies arrested Jose Rodriguez, 29, on an outstanding warrant after a traffic stop on the eastbound on-ramp of state Route 94 at Massachusetts Avenue on the morning of June 29. The nature of the misdemeanor warrant was not detailed in the report.
  • A 49-year-old man was arrested in the 3500 block of Main Street on the evening of June 29 on drug allegations, according to a report. An officer reported arresting John Croce on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, and misdemeanors of possessing hypodermics and possessing drug paraphernalia about 30 minutes after stopping him on the street.
