Weekly Crime Report: June 28

Items of note from the Lemon Grove station of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department from June 22-28.

Suspicious-person calls, felony robberies, petty thefts and two men arrested on various felony charges make the roundup this week in the Sheriff's Blotter.

  • A purse snatching was reported on the 7700 block of Palm Street on June 23 around 3:30 p.m. ID, credit cards and $60 in cash were reported stolen.
  • Deputies were called to the on Broadway on the afternoon of June 23 after a 29-year-old man was accused of shoplifting a power tool valued at $278.86.
  • A 31-year-old male was arrested for petty theft and drunk in public on June 23 at 10:20 pm. at the on Broadway.
  • Two men face multiple felony charges after being arrested in the 3200 block of Lemon Grove Avenue the night of June 23 around 10:30. Craig Shead, 36, and Eric Brown, 40, were booked into San Diego Central Jail on charges involving weapons, controlled substances and parole violations. The report stated both were armed with a handgun.
  • Deputies received a call of a suspicious person on Federal Boulevard around 5 a.m. on June 24. Arrested on a felony warrant was Michael Gorton, 53, who was booked into San Diego Central Jail.
  • A cell phone valued at $200 was reported stolen in the 6800 block of Federal Boulevard around noon on June 24.
  • Deputies received a call of a suspicious person in the 2100 block of Camino de las Palmas on the afternoon of June 24. Arrested on a felony parole violation was Walter Jones, 31, who was booked into San Diego Central Jail.
  • A license plate was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 7400 block of Daytona Street. The report said it was stolen sometime between 3 p.m. on Thursday and 5 p.m. on June 24.
  • A subject stop on June 25 on Palm Street at Hardy Drive led to a 27-year-old male being charged with three misdemeanor controlled substance counts.
  • A portable music device valued at $325 was reported stolen on June 25 at the Massachusetts Avenue trolley station.
  • A subject stop the night of June 25 in the 3400 block of Main Street resulted in Michael Jones, 24, being arrested on felony weapons charges. He was booked into San Diego Central Jail.
  • A 40-year-old male was arrested on misdemeanor battery charges in the 7600 block of Broadway the morning of June 26 and booked into San Diego Central Jail. A 55-year-old alleged victim was reported to have minor injury.
  • A felony robbery was reported in the 7000 block of Broadway on June 28 at 5:30 p.m.
  • A residential burglary was reported on June 28 in the 8300 block of Palm Street at 3:45 p.m.
