Weekly Crime Report: Sept. 7

Allegations of weapons possession, drug charges and battery make the roundup of crimes reported.

Items of note from the desk of the Lemon Grove station of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department as of Aug. 31:

  • Three people were arrested on Aug. 31 after allegedly being near San Altos Elementary School around 7:30 p.m. while possessing firearms. The most serious allegations were made against a 31-year-old man who was arrested on Arthur Neil Court around 11:30 p.m. on five felonies: having a firearm at a public school, being a felon in possession of a firearm, being under the influence of a controlled substance while in possession of a firearm, being a prohibited person in possession of ammunition, and carrying a concealed weapon with a previous felony conviction. He was also booked on a warrant arrest and a misdemeanor being under the influence of a controlled substance. A 30-year-old woman was arrested at the same location on a felony allegation of being a felon in possession of a firearm and misdemeanors of possessing a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. A 30-year-old man was arrested on Madera Street on a misdemeanor probation violation.
  • Deputies arrested a 23-year-old man on a felony battery allegation after they were called to the 3000 block of Main Street shortly after 10 a.m. Aug. 31. The suspect was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego. An unnamed victim sustained a minor injury in the incident, according to a report.
  • Factory 2 U, 7100 Broadway, reported the theft of $40 of miscellaneous clothing at 1:41 p.m. on Aug. 30.
  • A 31-year-old man was arrested on weapons allegations after deputies responded to Skyline Drive at Canton Drive on an abuse call at 5:54 p.m. on Aug. 30. The man was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego on a felony allegation of possessing dangerous weapons, as well as misdemeanor battery and carrying a loaded firearm in a public place. No injuries were reported.
  • The Rite Aid at 7200 Broadway reported a theft of liquor valued at more than $140 at 8:17 p.m. on Aug. 29. At 7:20 p.m. on the same date, the store reported the loss of more than $18 worth of prescription drugs. No suspect information was listed.
  • A 47-year-old woman was arrested on a felony battery allegation after deputies were called to 2900 Citronella Street on an abuse report at 5:25 p.m. Aug. 28. She was booked into the Las Colinas women's jail in Santee.
  • Deputies arrested a 51-year-old woman on a battery allegation after being called to the 7900 block of Sunset Terrance shortly after noon on Aug. 28. She was booked into the Las Colinas women's jail in Santee.
  • A 52-year-old man was found unconscious in the 7400 block of Berry Street at 8:27 p.m. on Aug. 27. The report was filed as a battery. No suspect information was listed.
  • A 29-year-old man was arrested on misdemeanor allegations after being stopped at Broadway and Lemon Grove Avenue at 10:51 p.m. on Aug. 27. He was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance, drunken driving and driving on a suspended license.
  • A 28-year-old man was arrested on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant after being detained in the 1700 block of San Altos Place shortly after 5 p.m. on Aug. 26.
  • A 55-year-old man was arrested after deputies were called to a report of a traffic accident at West Street and Pacific Avenue at 1:29 p.m. on Aug. 26. He was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego on suspicion of drunken driving and operating a vehicle with alcohol in his system while on probation for DUI.
  • Deputies arrested a 31-year-old man on felony allegations after being called to the 8200 block of Mount Vernon Street shortly after midnight Aug. 26 on a report of an armed suspicious person. The man was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego on a felony parole violation, in addition to assault with a deadly weapon and participating in criminal street gang activity. A 21-year-old male victim was not injured in the incident, according to a report.
  • A 22-year-old man was arrested on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant after a traffic stop at Lester Avenue and Lemon Grove Avenue at 8:54 p.m. on Aug. 26.
  • A 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of violating a court order in the 7000 block of Broadway at 8:19 p.m. Aug. 25.
  • Deputies arrested a 43-year-old man on suspicion of felony drug possession following a traffic stop at 9:20 p.m. Aug. 25 at Broadway and Massachusetts Avenue. He was also booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego on a misdemeanor allegation of driving on a suspended license.
  • The Rite Aid at 7200 Broadway filed a report of shoplifting at 6 p.m. Aug. 24 after noticing a loss of items valued at more than $84.
  • A traffic stop in the 7800 block of Broadway resulted in the arrests of three people on drug allegations at 11:39 p.m. Aug. 24. A 27-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and booked into the  Las Colinas women's jail in Santee along with another 27-year-old woman, who was booked on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance. A 31-year-old man was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego on misdemeanor allegations of being under the influence of a controlled substance.
  • A 42-year-old man was arrested on a felony allegation of commercial burglary at Broadway and New Jersey Avenue at 10:39 a.m. on Aug. 23. Deputies recovered $51 worth of miscellaneous food items allegedly stolen from the Food 4 Less.
  • Deputies arrested a 28-year-old woman on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant after being called to preserve the peace in the 7400 block of Broadway at 10:19 a.m. on August 23. She was booked into the Las Colinas women's jail in Santee.
  • Deputies investigating a report of a suspicious person at 2000 Barton Drive at 11:34 p.m. Aug. 22 arrested a 41-year-old man on misdemeanor drug allegations. He was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego on suspicion of being under the influence of controlled substances and possessing unlawful paraphernalia.
  • Deputies arrested a 41-year-old man on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant after being stopped in the 7800 block of Broadway at 7:39 p.m. on Aug. 20. He was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego.
  • A 52-year-old man was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego following a traffic stop at 10:38 p.m. on Aug. 19 on suspicion of drunken driving and driving with a license suspended due to a prior DUI.
  • A 45-year-old man was arrested after being stopped at Central Avenue and Buena Vista Avenue at 7:45 p.m. on Aug. 14. He was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego on suspicion of operating a motor vehicle with a measurable amount of alcohol in his system while on probation for drunken driving and a new allegation of drunken driving. He was also jailed on a probation violation.
  • A 23-year-old woman was cited on a battery allegation in the 1800 block of Washington Street following a complaint by a 30-year-old woman at 8:25 p.m. on July 25.
  • Helix Water Authorities filed a report of a hit-and-run with property damage at 9:45 a.m. on July 2 at 6800 San Miguel Avenue. No suspect information or damage estimate was given.

Recovered vehicles previously reported as stolen (Unless otherwise noted, no values listed):

  • Grove Street at Lemon Grove Way at 3:27 a.m. on Aug. 31 White, three-door truck valued at $4,500.
  • 2500 block of Cypress Avenue shortly after 9 a.m. on Aug. 25. Silver four-door sedan.
  • 3600 block of Olive Avenue at 10:43 a.m. on Aug. 25. Silver two-door sedan.
  • The 3000 block of Crane Street at 12:57 p.m. on Aug. 24. Black, four-door sedan reported stolen from another, undisclosed jurisdiction.
  • 7600 block of Canton Drive at 2:18 p.m. on Aug. 24. Tan four-door sedan was reported stolen from another jurisdiction.
