Homelessness Again on Lemon Grove Council's Agenda

The city has identified the issue as a priority.

Homelessness will again be discussed by Lemon Groves Council, which has made the issue a part of its list of priorities.

Councilmembers are scheduled to hear a panel of experts discuss data and trends on homelessness in Lemon Grove and the San Diego County region during the Oct. 1 meeting, according to a staff report.

  • Dolores R. Diaz, Regional Task Force on the Homeless
  • Dr. Patricia Leslie, Continuum of Care
  • Jennifer LeSar, representing the United Way
  • Kim Forrester, San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency

The panel will give presentations on the data and trends, programs and services offered to homeless community members, and “best practices for City Council consideration,” officials said.

The City Council set the issue of homelessness as a priority during a workshop in held earlier this year. Earlier this year, the council voted to support the “Keys to Housing Toolbox,” a program that provides the city a number of suggestions on how to help those in need.
