The city surveyed residents in 2012 to gauge support for a dog park.
Remember when city officials surveyed Lemon Grove residents in September 2012 to determine the desire for a dog park in town?
Well, it looks as if the city is ready to move forward on a place for pooches.
Officials hope to break ground on a dog park by summer, according to the city's newsletter. Feedback recieved from residents in the survey has prompted the city to plan for a dog park at Berry Street Park.

"The proposed location has natural shade provided by mature trees and a hill, great for a dog workout," officials wrote. "The spot will provide a happy and relaxing environment for years to come for dogs and their owners."
The plan is to do the project in three phases over the next few years. Phase 1 will include fencing, trash cans, and welcome signs. During phase 2, the city plan to add a water fountain, including one for dogs, and benches. Phase 3 will feature dog exercise features and additional shade.
