Other facts
The following was submitted by Racquel Vasquez:
As a council member for the city of Lemon Grove, I will bring common-sense solutions to balancing the budget while protecting essential services such as police, fire, parks, and youth and senior programs. I will focus on economic development and support measures to improve city streets and infrastructure.
I am recognized for bringing people together and solving complex problems for the City of San Diego's Public Works Department, where I work on vital infrastructure projects that support the region's economy and quality of life.
During my career, I have worked on water resources, public works, regional growth and long-range planning, which will greatly benefit Lemon Grove. As a Planning Commissioner for Lemon Grove, I have a proven track record of consistently supporting projects that protect the character of our city, promote a healthy and walkable community, and create local jobs. I have also served on the Lemon Grove City Manager's Budget Focus Group, and am a member of the Lemon Grove Resident Leadership Academy and the Soroptimist International of Lemon Grove.
My husband, a 22-year active-duty United States Navy sailor, and I made Lemon Grove our home in 2001. We found the city to be a wonderful place to raise our two children with friendly people and culturally diverse neighborhoods.
I am committed to ensuring Lemon Grove continues to be a safe place to live, work, and raise a family.
