Veterans Access to Services Expands in East County

The San Diego County Veterans Services Office now offers services in El Cajon.

Veterans in East County now have greater access to needed services as the County’s Veterans Services Office (CVSO) has begun opening up satellite offices in the region.

Services are now available at the El Cajon branch of the San Diego County Library on the second and fourth Mondays of each month from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The County’s Health and Human Services Agency and the San Diego County Library are also looking at expanding the services to library branches in Ramona, Julian and Pine Valley.

The County Board of Supervisors approved the expansion today and also instructed the CVSO to look for veterans who would be able to volunteer and help offer expanded services in some of the County’s other 30 branch libraries.

The CVSO provides local veterans, their dependents and survivors with comprehensive benefits counseling, assistance with claims preparations and referrals to community resources. Services are currently offered at nine locations across the County on a variety of schedules from one day a week to full-time offices.
