Environmentalists plan to hold a vigil in front of the Federal Building in downtown San Diego to oppose construction of the Keystone XL oil pipeline from Canada into the U.S. on Monday at 6 p.m.

The State Department last week gave its go-ahead to the project, which requires final approval from President Barack Obama.

The Federal Building is located at 880 Front St., San Diego, CA 92101.
