Cynthia Mendoza, Amu Milo Crowned Queen and King at Helix Homecoming
Accomplished athletes head royal court at event with a James Bond save-the-world theme.
Cynthia Mendoza and Amu Milo—both accomplished athletes—were crowned Homecoming Queen and King at halftime Friday night of the Helix Charter High School victory over visiting Valhalla. Cynthia, a lacrosse and field hockey player and president of Students Against Destructive Decisions, has a 3.7 grade-point average. Amu, a 5-foot-9, 260-pound lineman for the Scotties, was escorted by his sisters Samanthajane and Sara.
Other members of the royal court were ninth-grade prince Jose Chavez, ninth-grade princess Jennifer Sanchez, 10th-grade prince Luke Holloway and 10th-grade princess Mimi Tadele, 11th-grade prince Sean White and 11th-grade princess Marlie Adamson, and seniors Connor Turner, Victoria Nauman, Ben Rosenthal, Max Burnworth, Tianalei Siufanua, Christopher Scott, Lydia Insunza and Keana Nakata. Theme of the night was 0012: Mission to Save the World, a James Bond motif.
