Last Chance: Annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser Takes Place Sunday

There's a shiny new car for the duffer with the right shot.

A hole in one can win you a new car and help keep kids active and healthy. How?
Get into the swing of things this weekend with an event that raises money to support the PE program at Lemon Grove Academy Elementary.

The fourth annual golf tournament, held Sunday, June 23, at the Cottonwood Golf Club in El Cajon, features a competition, luncheon, auction and entertainment. Proceeds from the event fund the school's PE program for more than 500 children as part of its comprehensive wellness plan.

And the car? It's a 2013 Ford Focus with a two-year lease from Drew Ford, a tournament sponsor. Get the hole in one on the selected hole, and it's yours.

Supporters can participate in a variety of ways—by golfing in the tournament, attending the luncheon and silent auction, or donating an item that can be raffled or bid on. Local business sponsorships are welcome.

The tournament is four-person scramble. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and is limited to the first 144 people. The shotgun start is at 9 a.m.

There will be longest drive and closest to the pin contents, with cash prizes for the first and second place teams.

Entry fee is $110 per person, which includes a free green fee to play again another day, bagels and coffee, golf cart, range balls, raffle tickets and the carne asada and chicken enchilada lunch.

Non-golfers can attend the luncheon for $25.

Entertainment will be provided by SantanaWays, and Patrice Petway, Lemon Grove Academy's multitalented music teacher.
