Lemon Grove School Board Meeting Tonight

The five-member panel convenes its first summer session at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Lemon Grove Community Center.

It’s a nuts and bolts kind of night for the Lemon Grove School District as the five-member governing board meets Tuesday to consider items ranging from bidding on frozen foods to renewing the superintendent’s contract.

Trustees will hear about the coming school year’s time schedule for each campus, and vote on items that provide food and mental health services to students, extend a dietetic internship program, and renew a variety of service agreements. There is also an agreement between the city and the district that needs to be ratified so that the Nutrition Services Department can serve free sack lunches at the Lemon Grove Recreation Center through the Seamless Summer Feeding Program.

On the administrative front, board members will deliberate contract extensions for Superintendent Ernie Anastos, and Dr. Gina Potter, assistant superintendent of business services.

Also Tuesday, Glenn Heath, the district’s director of human resources who is retiring, will be honored for his years of service andleadership.

The school board meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Lemon Grove Community Center, 3146 School Lane.

Editor's note: This story has been revised. An earlier version stated incorrectly that the board would deliver contract extensions, rather than the board would deliberate contract extensions.

Nice if you can actually pass such a bill but we are dealing with politicians who cherish the powerRead More they have attained rising to the top. In actuality this has "A Snowballs Chance In Hell" of passing, but kudos for the effort.
