Lemon Grove School District Recognizes Student Success
Annual program awards children for outstanding academic growth and citizenship.
With the school year winding down to a close, the Lemon Grove School District recognized 56 children in kindergarten through eighth grade for outstanding academic growth and citizenship at its annual Celebrating Student Success awards program on May 24.
Hundreds of proud parents, with siblings and other family in tow, filled the Roberto Alvarez Auditorium at Lemon Grove Middle School, to watch as each child was called to the stage to be honored. Refreshments were served following the ceremony.
The academic growth award recognizes students “who show outstanding educational growth, commitment or intellectual development in their core subject areas, but do not necessarily score the highest in the class or meet all grade level standards.”

The citizenship award is designed to serve as an inspiration to students to be responsible, help resolve conflicts, build self-esteem, volunteer, and appreciate individual rights and responsibilities.
