Don’t underestimate the Helix defense. When East County Sports forecast the score for Friday night’s game at West Hills High in Santee, the site figured the “Highlanders have way too much firepower to stumble over the Wolf Pack” and predicted a 38-14 Scotties victory.
The actual result? The Scotties took a 21-0 lead at halftime and whipped those other dogs 35-0, who suffered four fumbles. Senior running back Michael Adkins scored three touchdowns for the No. 3 Highlanders, and senior wide receiver Kendal Keys had two against West Hills on Senior Night.
With Grossmont losing to visiting Valhalla 39-28—ending the Hillers’ 7-game win streak—Friday night’s showdown between the La Mesa rivals at Helix could determine the Grossmont Hills League title.
Please explain how that was determined when Helix is 3-0 and Grossmont is 2-1 in league play ?
Why do you think that's gonna change now? 20 unanswered points ... really ?? Helix's defense hasn't missed a beat only allowing 5 pts / game; Grossmont allows 21 pts/game. Offensively Grossmont averages just under 38 pts/game and Helix about 31 pts/game. Could Helix get their 4th league shutout on Friday? We will see.
