Chargers Open Gates to Public at 3 p.m. for Peek at 2012 Team in Training

Bleacher seating is available at Chargers Park in Murphy Canyon; workout is from 3:45 to 6 p.m.

Ready for some football—practice?

The San Diego Chargers will conduct their first public practice of 2012 today (Saturday) at Chargers Park at 4020 Murphy Canyon Road. Gates open at 3
p.m., with the workout being held from 3:45 to 6 p.m.

Bleacher seating is available. Fans are welcome to bring folding chairs to sit on the pavement surrounding the practice fields. Fans can bring their own food water and soft drinks. However, cigarettes and alcoholic
beverages are not allowed at Chargers Park at any time.

A concession stand selling hot and cold food, water and soft drinks will be open. The Chargers Team Store will have a booth where the latest team merchandise and apparel will be available, including the new Nike team jerseys.

Fans may bring cameras, but video cameras and long-lens cameras are not allowed.

Other items not permitted at Chargers Park during training camp include pets (other than service dogs), weapons, chains, stun guns, mace and pepper
spray, water guns, fireworks, Frisbees, sports balls, beach balls or other inflatable objects, laser pointers, flammable objects, musical instruments or noise making devices.

Parking will be available on Murphy Canyon Road and in the Kearny Mesa Business Center, just south of Chargers Park.

The Chargers will have nine other practices open to the public, including Sunday's, which will be held from 10:45 a.m. to 1 p.m., and a night practice from 7:15 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at Qualcomm Stadium, where the team will hold its FanFest from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4.
