World Peace Day at the Library

Celebrate World Peace Day at the Lemon Grove Library.

The event is offered in partnership with Buddhist organization Soka Gakkai's International-USA (SGI) and will feature a poetry reading, a screening of the film Our Shared Humanity and a discussion of Japanese Buddhist Tradition presented by SGI.

In addition, multiple presenters will speak on peaceful topics:

  • Kelsang Chokyi, Resident Teacher of Vajrarupini Buddhist Center: Forgiveness: Opening Our Hearts and Moving On.
  • Carolyn Cannafax, Director of Diplomacy of International: Women's Roles in Global Peace. 
  • Lawrence Bowman, author of the book Left Behind
  • Marketa Hancova, Dean of Education at Platt College's School of Arts and Design: will talk about her experience during the time of the revolution in Czechoslovakia.
