Help Clean Up Lemon Grove with I Love A Clean San Diego

Join the 10th annual Creek to Bay Cleanup and help transform Lemon Grove.

Volunteers will be hard at work revitalizing the Chollas Creek site at San Miguel Avenue and Federal Boulevard in Lemon Grove from 9 a.m. to noon April 28.

The Lemon Grove location is one of 86 countywide cleanup sites chosen for the 10th Annual Creek to Bay Cleanup event, hosted by I Love A Clean San Diego (ILACSD). Since its inception in 1954, ILACSD has been hosting cleanups in order to make a noticeable difference in the state of beaches, bays, parks, canyons and creek beds.

“The City of Lemon Grove supports the Creek to Bay Cleanup event because it fosters teamwork and encourages residents to take pride in their community,” said Lemon Grove City Manager Graham Mitchell.

In 2011, 16 volunteers cleaned approximately two miles of channel and roadway at the San Miguel/Federal site. They removed 75 pounds of trash and 61 pounds of recyclable material from Chollas Creek.
