Harvest CROPS Seeks Volunteers for Saturday Pick

The group harvests fruit that would otherwise go wasted.

Harvest CROPS (Community Residents Offering Produce Seasonally), the local group that picks unneeded fruit from residential trees and shares it with the hungry, is looking for volunteers to help pick oranges Saturday.

The group needs 30 people to volunteer June 1 and help pick the fruit at a home that has more than 40 orange trees, according to the Harvest CROPS Facebook page. Manpower is needed from 9 a.m. to noon.

The group harvests fruit that would otherwise go wasted and distributes the produce to low-income families and seniors throughout the county.

Have a fruit tree you want harvested? Want to volunteer and help provide those in need with fresh, healthful fruit? Visit the Harvest CROPS website for all the details.
