KIWANIGRAM, The Latest Report From Your LG Kiwanians

Your Lemon Grove Kiwanians discuss fellowship and even a volunteering opportunity.

We at Lemon Grove Patch are grateful for the support from the local service organizations who trust their materials to us. Below is the latest report from the recent Lemon Grove Kiwanis Club.

PREZ “Cul” had  John PIPES  lead the pledge; Adolph HELGESON  gave a fine invocation; and we sang “God Bless America”.   Lt Governor Sergio ROSAS graciously was here to preside over our “Installation of Officers” and it was a pleasure seeing him again.

Other guests included Francine WILLIAMS, Dell LAKE, Edna HELGESON and  Sandy KESSLER, new Union Bank Manager.

We had a very tasty lunch for our installation; with a delicious salad, dessert, and sodas, milk, and water to drink.

Happy Birthday greetings, again, to Adolph HELGESON (Oct 7); and our thoughts and prayers continue to be for Si BRUMBAUGH and his fine family.  Craig LAKE gave an excellent presentation about Si’s accomplishments and extensive travels all over the world.  Great installation….any many thanks to all!!!

There was no Finemaster today; and the raffle was won by Dell LAKE who pulled out the White $5 chip. Everyone had the opportunity to buy another ticket(s) for $2 each … and Lt Governor Sergio won the $25 Blue chip. Congratulations!!!!

Lt Governor Sergio is now the 2nd Lt Governor to pull out the Big Money chip.  Tom BAUER won $50 on his visit to our club few years ago. Lt Governor Sergio installed our Officers for FY 2013-2014.

And the are:  PREZ “Cul” WILLIAMS, Treasurer Adolph HELGESON; Secretary Debbie SOHL; and Board Of Directors Mary Ella BENNETT; Dale CHAMBERLAIN; Jim CUMMINS; Del KAY, John PIPES; Kevin SWARTZBERG; and Pam WATT.  Congratulations to all!!! Thanks, also, to Pam WATT and Adolph & Edna HELGESON who will be attending the Division Council Meeting this evening.

During our Board of Director’s meeting, we approved $150 and $50 for a total of $200 for “Lt Governor Sergio ROSAS’ fund and for Installation Raffle” which was not delivered during his Installation ceremonies; $50 for “BSA Troop #108”; $20 for the Senior Nutrition Center’s Coffee Fund”;$10 for Miracle Mile Of Quarters”; and $25 for John PIPES if he decides to do the Chili Cook-off.

NOTICE:    Our next meeting will be held on November 6th .  We will be looking forward to seeing all of you in attendance; and to begin to see what we can do to get some new members and build up our fine club.  Since Craig LAKE will be out-of-town, PREZ “Cul” will select the “Finemaster” for this meeting.

The following meeting will be held on November 20th . That’s Board Of Directors meeting day; so be there to approve some important Kiwanis business and support your club’s activities.

Del KAY and Dale CHAMBERLAIN worked their 3rd Home Charger Game on October 14th  at Qualcomm Stadium to continue to raise funds for our club.  Way to go!!!  If any other member would like to give it a try, contact Dale CHAMBERLAIN for further information. By now, all members should have their dues paid up-to-date.  If not, contact Adolph HELGESON if you haven’t already been notified how much is needed to do so.

NOTE: Lt Governor Sergio advises that the “Kiwanis Club of La Jolla De Tijuana” is being formed; and later on will be renamed the “Kiwanis Club Of Tijuana”.  Excellent!!!
