Heather Zevely, Neighbor

I was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles County.  My love for the news business started when I was in junior high.  My friends would go home from school and watch their favorite TV shows but I was much more interested in seeing the top story at 5 pm.!

My career in television news started in Grand Island, NE in 1996.  From there, I moved to Palm Springs where I was fortunate enough to interview former President Gerald Ford at his Rancho Mirage estate.   The adventure continued in Albuquerque, NM where I met my husband Jeff.  We were both crime reporters always trying to scoop each other and that's how we fell in love.

We moved back to Southern California to continue our news careers at KFMB-TV in San Diego, where I received two Emmys for my coverage of the  2003 wildfires.

I've been home taking care of our two girls for the past few years but still need my news "fix" and Patch.com is the perfect fit!
